My Coins - Colorado VFW

Okay, here we go. This is the last coin given to me in connection with this past deployment. I have been writing all day, but now this series is getting close to an end.

This coin was given to me by the Colorado Chapter of the Veterans of Foreign Wars at our Welcome Home Ceremony. There is nothing really special about this coin. It is rather simple in its design. One side has the words "Welcome Home" around the top and the words "Global War on Terrorism" around the bottom. In the center is a spread eagle w/olive branch in one claw and arrows in the other and the shield of the U.S. in the center over a globe. The back of the coin has the shield of the VFW in the center with the words "Department of Colorado" around the top and "Veterans of Foreign Wars" around the bottom.

With this coin in hand, I officially closed out my second tour in Iraq. Granted, I still had to go through the reintigration process, but that's another matter. This coin was the last token or award that I recieved for my service in Iraq. Again, no sentimental significance here. It is just neat to have something from the VFW.
