This coin has to rank up there as one of my favorites for design, alone. It was given to me by Major David Repyneck of the 109th Mobile Public Affairs Detachment. The 109th was a unit that my shop had to support during our latest deployment. They are with the Pennsylvania National Guard. My shop was always trying to take care of computer and other problems for these guys and they were very appreciative of our services. They were also very patient with us, as they understood our man-power issues. MAJ Repyneck gave this coin to me after his commander had presented me with a Certificate of Appreciation. You'll note that the coin is shaped like the state of Pennsylvania. On one side is the Pennsylvania National Guard's patch and what I presume to be the crest of this particular unit. In the middle is a "minute man" with the words "213TH PERSONNEL COMPANY" inscribed over the man. The words "GIVEN FOR OUTSTANDING PERFORMANCE" are on the bottom. The front of the coin has the words "COMMANDERS COIN FOR EXCELLENCE" at the top. In the middle is a "dog tag" necklace circled up with the silver oak leaf denoting the rank of a Lieutenant Colonel. The words "213TH" appear in the center, followed by the crest of the Adjutent General Branch. Below this are the words in quotes, "WHATEVER IT TAKES."
